Society has become accustom to the influence of technology on their daily lives which has changed the way humans think, communicate, and work. Forward thinking breads creativity and leads to the new technologies that fundamentally shapes our future. Our upcoming Forward Thinking panel will highlight emerging technology in the fields of blockchain, augmented reality/virtual reality, and artificial intelligence/machine learning. The panel will draw from experience of how these technologies have affects their lives and how they believe it will effect our futures.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, this Island lady has always had an innate desire to and ability to connect with people. Her passion for diversity and inclusion coupled with her creative, strategic thinking and love of storytelling, has led her to be a powerful influence on corporate and organizational structure. Danielle is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Communication. Her early-in-career endeavors included positions at MTV Networks and Bad Boy Entertainment. Senecal & Partners (kbs+), Danielle entered the world of technology when she accepted a sales position at Microsoft Advertising. During her tenor at Microsoft, Danielle served as an award-winning salesperson with an expertise in digital, native, mobile, SEO/SEM and programmatic. In 2018, she transitioned out of sales and into operations where she managed Go to Market strategies for key product launches in the US, Latin America, Canada and Europe ; all while serving as a leader in the Diversity & Inclusion space. Most recently, Danielle made a pivot out of Microsoft Advertising into the Microsoft Business
Development team where she manages and negotiates demand partnership deals for the company. Outside of her thriving career in the corporate sector, Danielle prides herself on being a social entrepreneur. She is the CEO/Owner of Caption-It! App – a mobile app designed to provide captions and quotes for social media posting and sharing. Additionally, she is also Co-owner of &Noire (andnoire.com) – an ecommerce website created to increase visibility and profit to black-owned brands. Danielle has a passion for traveling and for giving back. In 2013 she founded The Star Boutique, Inc. - a nonprofit organization that supports teenage girls in New York City who are affected by homelessness. Through the Star Boutique, Danielle and her team have changed the lives of several hundreds of girls and has been recognized in local, national, and international media for their efforts. Annually, Danielle combines both of her passions by traveling to Kenya to engage in community work with underprivilege youth and struggling small business owners. When she is not closing business deals and changing lives, Danielle serves a Public Speaker who gives lectures and workshops around the subjects of Empowerment, Brand Development, Diversity & Inclusion and Philanthropy. From colleges to corporations, Danielle is on a journey of spreading inspiration and empowerment globally.
Charlene Atlas drives VR/AR technology forward to meet human needs. As an Interaction Designer at Facebook Reality Labs, she is creating the far future of virtual and augmented reality. During her 10+ year career, Charlene has worked on experiences for the Kinect motion controller and the HoloLens, received multiple patents, and presented workshops on inclusive design. She loves creating fun and safe spaces for creativity and collaboration to thrive.
Angelica Willis is a software engineer and AI researcher at Google, a startup advisor, and an angel investor. Angelica's previous career adventures include machine learning research at Apple, NASA, and Bank of America, in addition to leading angelic.ai, an AI research firm. She holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from North Carolina A&T State University, and a graduate degree in Computer Science, with a focus in Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction, from Stanford University.
McKenzie Slaughter is a long-time financial innovator and strong advocate for resilient financial systems and equitable digital economies. Ms. Slaughter is the CEO of Prohaus Capital, a blockchain-enabled private equity firm that transforms trusted fintechs, banks, pensions, and asset managers. Prohaus focuses on the development and acquisition of small cap companies building future of finance solutions across internet finance, financial wellness, capital markets, wealth and asset management sectors. She is also founding partner of Alts Foundation, a non-profit transforming at-risk digital communities with digital assets.
Prior to Prohaus Capital, Ms. Slaughter was the co-founder and lead architect for the Digital Financial Market Infrastructure (DFMI) protocol, developing end-to-end core products for banks, financial institutions, and governments across the Caribbean and Africa. She is a 100 Women in Finance CAIA Scholar, co-author of The Insurtech Book, and recognized on Innovate Finance’s Women in Fintech Powerlist and Black Tech Titan by Black Enterprise.
